where my heart is...

Suttle Lake in Bend, OR - Goldy's in Boise, ID - The Sparrow Bakery in Bend, OR - Freak Alley in Boise, ID
Home is where the heart is...and now I can finally understand why that saying was created.  Spent a few days in Oregon and Idaho, happy to be back home.  Had many adventures, saw some amazing things...ate some yummy goodies...and it was time for this mama to get back to daily life.  Although I miss the place where I grew up, I realized that my family of four (plus a cat and a dog) are in Florida and that is where I need to be.  There was something in me wanting to run back to where I grew up...longing to see a landscape filled with mountains and pine trees.  Be apart of that hands on craftsman like lifestyle that I adored so much.  After a few days I soaked it all up and realized that no matter here or there, I am right where I need to be at the moment.  It is a nice feeling to step back and be thankful for where I am in the moment.  Love it here!

one plus one plus one...

It is a Monday.  Longed for a few more minutes in bed.  Was hopeful that the kids woke up with big ol' smiles on their faces...should have known better.  Realized that I have two more days until I am higher in altitude on a plane, on a mountain and in spirit.  It may be Monday, the same routine once again, but this week has a little adventure of my very own.  Time to refresh and connect, change the pace a bit.  Feeling the distance between me and 40 is quickly diminishing and not stopping often enough to celebrate today.  So here we go!

Went to work last night cleaning my craft space.  Time to prepare for my husband taking the reins for a few days and he is not a clutter, crafty kind of guy.  Once it was all cleared up I decided to create a little something from the items I have put up in my shop recently.

a heart times three...

There is something so exciting about waking up to the first cool morning after a long, humid, hot summer.  Is it here to stay?  Oh I hope so.  Have you pulled out your sweaters yet for the year?  I am a layers kind of gal and my sweaters are always front and center in my closet ready for a day like today.  Yeppy!  Working on a few new items for the shop today as I finish packing a few orders.   Fun, fun, fun!

criss cross...

Hello Saturday!  The house is quiet, there is a list of things to get done today and my fingers want to keep crafty busy if at all possible.  Thankfully my work space seems to be stationed in the middle of all of the hustle and bustle, allowing me to jump from one thing to another...creating little spurts of artistic moments throughout my afternoon.  Stepping in quickly to share a little project I have coming up on the Precious Remembrance blog next Sunday (October 12th), a how-to I suppose, on PLAID!  So many swatches I have come across as color inspirations and will share them with you soon.  Until then...

outfitted for fall...

photo
Happy Fall!  My FAVORITE time of year...which has been on my mind for two months now.  To kick start my fall I am headed to Oregon next week on a very spontaneous, spur of the moment, much needed girls only road trip with my sister.  We are hopping in the car and heading to Idaho to catch a concert...country music isn't really my thing, but it will be a blast all the same.   I am an early packer so the sweaters, jeans and boots are tucked away and ready.  Not one for picking out outfits, but for this trip I wanted to dress for fall and so I took to Pinterest.  Boy do they have the ideas!

This is exactly how I needed it drawn out.  Ended up with my first pair of leggings, knee high boots and a cable knit sweater.  Pulled all I could out of my closet from the days I lived in Oregon and went to work being my own stylist.  Today is the day I try these on and see if I pulled it off.  The strange thing is that there were no flip flops in any of the photos...they will be missed for a week!

So today will be spent planning our Halloween party, cleaning and a runway show :)  Decided on our Halloween party theme this year is murder mystery.  This will be fun I hope for everyone.  Now to get started.  To create the perfect invitations...back to Pinterest.

Hope your weekend ahead is filled with many smiles, a few spontaneous adventures and maybe a runway show of your own :)

color me plaid...

We are going plaid today, are you ready?  I absolutely LOVE border stamps and the fact that you can create your very down background paper.  Not really sure how long it has been since I pulled out a piece of scrapbook paper besides cardstock.

Created a card set based on some ombre clothespins that I put up in my shop yesterday (the pink one was used in this set).

The color was inspiring so there was nothing else I could do but pull out ink and stamp away.  {Using my FAVORITE stamps from Precious Remembrance...of course.}  Check out the PR blog on Sunday for a little tutorial on how you can quickly create your own plaid design.

With the sun shining outside, no rain in the forecast today (YEAH! and finally) just a little something to brighten your day as well as mine.   I have one Halloween party to figure out and plan for.  It is a lot of preparation and very high expectations after our full haunted house last year.  There is worry as everyone is being pulled in different directions this year, taking a quick trip to the Northwest next week to see my sis and trying to just keep our house from being taking over by school work, dust and crafts.  I am hoping, crossing my fingers and repeating to myself that even if it is very small this year they will have fun....I hope!!!

the start up...

Hello there!  Ok, so it seems like quite some time has passed since I last wrote, besides posting a few photos.  There has been a lot of time playing in my crafty space, which these days it is quite small but I will take it.    Not sure how your year has been going, but I would like to see the year end on an upswing...please.  It has been a year of change in many ways and lending a helping hand to others that need a bit of a boost.  Each and every day I take a little time to just have a moment of peace and clarity...something we can all use once and awhile.

So here I am.  Back at creating.  As an idea goes from floating around in my head to a complete item, I want this to be a place where I can share those creations.  A clutter free, happy soul filling creating place is what I am after.

A few changes is not such a bad thing I have realized. Sometimes we need them to get us motivated and refocused.   One thing I have learned this year is that if you think of something just follow through as much as you can.  It has been very easy for me to put things off, but there are moments each and every day when I remind myself to just do it...whatever "it" is.  So my "it" now?  I have a desire to make a little something from my Etsy shop again.  Filling it with items I make by hand.  It is amazing to create a colorful anything that may bring a smile to someone's day.  Can't imagine doing anything else.  There are a few changes, a determined spirit and a love of creating that drive me to be happy today and hopefully that will continue to roll into the days to come.
