stroll down the road...

Taking a little stroll with Maya Road, Epiphany Crafts and Precious Remembrance today so join me...

It was time again to switch scrap paper bins and in doing so I realized there is a fall/winter box and a spring/summer box.  Finding a bit of October Afternoon that I love so much which blended nicely with the Precious Remembrance and Maya Road embellishments.  And you just gotta add that Prairie Bird Boutique wrinkle ribbon that is always found to have just the right color to match any project.  Then onto Epiphany Crafts...
A layered embellishment that is full of color and texture.  For additional photos on each project head on over to Epiphany Crafts and Precious Remembrance.

Just a little peek at the new blog banner and name...

Can't wait to show you more as we countdown to the grand opening in just a week and a half!

all my hearts...

We made it to Friday and still standing...just a bit dizzy from all of the first week of school rush.  But...while the kids are away I get to play!  Today bringing a little Riddersholm Design to you vintage style and love the itty bitty butterflies.

Someone recently reminded me of this project I created a while back while my mother was visiting.  A slightly different and tiny take on a felt pincushion.  Came across the wooden pieces the other day while tearing through my craft room and thought this would make the perfect pair.

Have a wonderful Friday!

by the way, thank you...

Is it Wednesday already?  Need to remember that we have early release today.  The first week of school is going by quickly.  The chore list is in full swing, my youngest is tired from first grade, cranky and in need of a nap, a pile of papers to sign is growing across the dining table and I am ready to get the new design team blog up and's coming soon...yeah!  There is nothing like running around all day getting all of the things done this first week to have hubby to walk in the door and ask why we didn't make it to karate...really...we are tired!  So ready to go sit for two hours while the boys have their karate tonight and play Connect 4 (which I currently find addictive) to pass the time.  So as I sit here my mind in wandering and going down the list of things to do.  First thing...a project posted on the Momenta blog today featuring their new metal embellishments and paper pad.  Love the new colors.  Of course, my Prairie Bird Boutique wrinkle ribbon to match.

A little update on the new blog.  Beginning September 9th the CPT creative team will be posting on a whole new blog designed by us for you to find inspiration, share your talent and join in challenges with giveaways.  Can't wait to share it all with you soon!  So mark your calendars and get ready for some color, fun and setting aside time to get creative.

a perfect day to...

It is a perfect day to create here with The Ribbon Girl Challenge!  So excited to share today's project as it is was not only inspired by a color combination, but trying out a few new techniques.  My project today feature a sewing book created from sheets of felt, some of that amazing vintage fabric I recently discovered, a doily given to me by my mother for something just like this and a new type of crochet flower with a pattern shown in a new and amazing magazine Stitch, Craft, Create!  Used both a mulberry flower in shocking pink to accent the flower on the card and the adorable mint greet stripped ribbon from The Ribbon Girl.  Make sure you head on over to enter your project  based on this challenge for a chance to win this...

Have fun!

rustic love...

Just a bit of an update.  Added a new paper pack to the shop today.  A bit of every color is included and this pack comes with 11 images!

contained vintage...

Happy Saturday....I am working the vintage theme today over at Vintage Street Market and had to pop in to share these little finds.  I recently visited an estate sale with my mother while she was visiting and came across a home of a crafter/collector.  Boxes of doilies, fabric, buttons, much loveliness.  The lady who had lived their had a passion for creating and had a vision of what my future may look like.  Vintage sewing machines and cabinets filled with every color of thread lined the dining room.  Picked up a few of these treasures, came home, and spread it all across the table as if I were a kid on Halloween after a big night out.  So my project today features a doily flower atop this canning jar and some vintage fabric to embellish a little more with some color.  If you are out looking for your own treasures today...wishing you happy finds!

Did you have a great weekend...or did it speed by like it has here.  Only a couple of days remain until school begins here, my mom is departing tomorrow and the alarm clock is getting plugged back in tonight...oh the changes that will be.  Wanted to stop by the blog and introduce a new digital set that is fun, colorful and sentiments to match. Stay tuned for a full week of Riddersholm Design, Chic Tags, Precious Remembrance, Epiphany Crafts and another tutorial on using more of my digital images.  Found a few vintage fabrics over the weekend that will be showcased here this week in some sewing projects that will first need to be created :)   See you soon!

steppin' out to a giveaway...

Tutorial time?  I think it is...and oh so happy to share with you how to use my new digital papers, tags and pennant flags to create a layered card full of color!  So what are we waiting for...
CPT Checks & Dots Paper Pack
CPT Checklist Tags
CPT Let It Fly Pennant Flags
foam adhesive (Glue Arts used here)
safety pin
glossy accent

1.  Print out collage sheet (PDF) from each set. Trim along edges with scissors or paper cutter of the images you would like to use.  (I left a little white border for my project.)  Mix and match the images to complete several cards at once or set remaining printed images aside to use at a later date.

2.  In a photo editing or word processing program, print a larger Checks & Dots image to cover the front of the card.  (Example: In MS Word, insert image.  Right click on the image and select "size".  Make sure "lock aspect ratio" is checked.  Change the size in height and width.)  In this card I printed two images at 5" each.

3.  Adhere and stitch printed paper to front of card.

4.  Back printed Let It Fly pennant flag with foam adhesive and adhere to card front.

5.  Back printed 3" Checks & Dots paper with foam adhesive and ribbon.  Adhere to front of card.  Tie bow.

6.  Add foam adhesive to back of Checklist printed tag and adhere to front of card.  Add glossy accent to heart.

7.  Trim one Let It Fly Tag to create a mini tag, punch hole and pin to ribbon with safety pin.

8.  Add button to pennant flag.

And there you have it.  Digital images ready when you want them, no taking up extra storage space in your craft room and a new combination is always just a click away.   All of these images are up in the shop.  If you would like the chance to win the CPT Checklist Digital Set just leave a comment here by August 16th and you could possibly win this set to add to your collection!

Enjoy your weekend!

happy fabric play...

A "happy day" is upon us...I can just feel it.  Starting out the day with a little Precious Remembrance project, heading into picking up the house (can tell the boys are back for sure) and working on a few orders.  This month Precious Remembrance is focusing on their friend stamp set that I adore to much.  Used the "xoxo" stamp to create a back to this frame, the little hearts (wouldn't be complete without) which are poppin' off the frame and a little sentiment stamp to complete the look.  Recently found these wooden frames for 80% off (!!!) at a local craft store, inked it a bit and created this wall hang.  Love them and have about 15 more.  I think I cleared them out so stay tuned for more.  The flower is created from my fabric ribbon, lace from The Ribbon Girl and a bit of a flower from Webster's Pages.  In love with the green polka dot fabric too!  I see this as part of a Christmas kit in the future.
Just finished up these new stick pins which are now posted in the shop.  All of these coordinate with the digital kits as well.  And now before I go...
Created a flag/pennant digital kit in both jpeg and gif format.  Can be added to your own stick pins, strung, create a border...samples to come soon.  Working on a few frames at the moment and Halloween items!

Off to be productive...  Remember to head on over to Precious Remembrance to find tutorials, additional photos and a bunch of inspiration throughout each week.

let's assemble...

Oh the sun is shining, the boys are full of energy, the day is open to any adventure...then there is me...sitting here waiting for the energy to kick in and find the desire to leave the house today.  After three weeks of staying in day after day and then a week full of outings...someone may have to drag me out of the house at this point.  But, while I am here I might as well have a little fun in the craft room and mixing up a few goodies to post in the shop.  You can now find these printed sets of tags, stick pins and flowers in one embellishment kit here.  This features two new tag sets from my digital collection, three tags from Take Notes, three tags from Checklist, one crochet flower, one felt flower, one printed CPT tag with 21" fabric ribbon and five stick pins to match.  All comes together in one embellished envelope closed with twine and a button that can be used on any project!  Get one while supplies last and the coupon code is still active.  They will be shipping by the middle of next week!

Also...just completed CPT's first 12" digital paper pack.
Now available!

from the inside out...

Embellishing from the inside out today with a few new projects.  This first project is posted today on Pink Paislee's blog...this week's theme is Indigo Bleu.  Love the mix of blue, khaki and white.  Created a flower from the fabric trim found in the Mistables collection by trimming each scallop from the chain, soaking them in glimmer mist tinted water and allowing them to dry.  Strung each together with a needle and thread.  This next project is posted on the Ginger Snap Scraps site today as well...
Today's theme...create a tag.  And what to do with that tag other than creating a pocket to tuck it into, right?  Using some American Crafts, Chic Tags and ribbon from both The Ribbon Girl and Prairie Bird Boutique. After a few days of non-stop swimming, shopping, walking and playing with friends we are finally stickin' around here to relax a little.  Hope you are all enjoying the start of a new week.

greeted with a smile...

UPDATE: After a few emails from some very special and talented crafters...the CPT design team positions are filled for the moment.  Thank you and look forward to sharing their talent here using a few CPT goodies beginning in September!

My boys are home...and we were greeted with many smiles, hugs and stories about their adventures.  The house is no longer quiet, the beds are full and time to enjoy a couple weeks of summer with them before school begins again. As they get back to playing here I thought I would give a little shop update.  My digital items are back up in my shop.  With the excitement over the past two days I was a roller coaster of emotions where I took it out on my blog and shop...changing things multiple times :)  They are back up and ready to go if you were interested.  I will be posting my cards, embellishments and more in another week and a half.  Also, I know how much fun working on a design team is and would love to find a few craft people who would be able to and would like to work with my fabric, felt and digital items for the next couple of months.  New holiday items to come soon as well...

Just want to have a little fun seeing what others create using these items.  If you are interested contact me within the next couple of weeks.
A little stamped inspiration for the day.  Used Basic Grey stamps, The Ribbon Girl ribbon and stick pin, Papertrey Ink stamp and dies, with Pink Paislee papers as well.  And one more thing before I go...
So excited to see this on the cover! Have a great day...

enjoy the journey...

Let the journey begin!  Good morning, afternoon or evening...hope you are enjoying your Wednesday.  We are still pacing the floors waiting for the return of the boys.  Darn plane...but know they were having a fun filled extra day with my parents.  This is how the final day went...
My boys have been hard at work for the past three weeks working in the garden at both their grandparents' home.  The night before they were to come home my youngest was out in the garden, late into the night, planting carrot seeds...three to be exact.  He made sure to pour plenty of water on the "crop" and wait.  Meanwhile, my dad headed home from work and stopped by to pick up some carrots, in full form.  Can  you see where this is going?  The next morning they headed out to check on the newly planted garden...
To their surprise the carrots grew!  They were so excited, discussing amongst themselves how three seeds turned into four carrots, but in the end they agreed I guess that maybe two seeds were stuck together.  They were washed and both ate them...which is a little strange since I can't seem to get our youngest to eat carrots at home.  Both loved them and just by looking at this picture you can tell how proud they are of all the hard work.  So cute.  My husband and I grew up in the country and now we live in a very busy, very large city and it is the summer back home that I miss the most.  The fact my kids can run around two acres of what we consider "normal" grass, fields and splashing in the streams is so amazing.  Reminds me of the many days I spent with my sister playing in the tall field of grass, running through the sprinklers, picking blackberries, catching snakes and bees (would never do that now) and spending hours outdoors.  I am so thankful that they are able to spend time there, although I miss them terribly.  Ok...onto the project...
Today this card is posted on the Chic Tags blog.  I love with these canvas butterflies from Maya Road and will be featured in a project for Momenta at the end of the week.  Also, I am excited to announce that I am now apart of the Ginger Snap Scraps Design Team!  An amazing team that features theme projects daily.

Well, back to pacing the floors and making sure they are flying in today. Have a wonderful day.
