basket full of something sweet...

First off...thank you everyone who entered my little giveaway. Now I have evidence to share with my boys that not every girl likes pink and only boys can like blue. They seem to really believe that is written in the rule book somewhere. Loved reading all of the comments and now for the winner...JULIE E! Send me a quick email to with your info and choice.

Also...the winner of one amazing template from Creations by AR is SUSAN! You can either contact me or Adela with your pick. Enjoy!!

For a little weekend inspiration...and for those of you who are lucky enough to have a garden...picked these just for you.

Have an amazing weekend!

give it a twirl...

Working with fabric more and more these days, trying hard to get my work to look more professional...ok, I have a long way to go. Bringing you a little something I created for Glue Arts and Maya Road earlier this week...

Did a little hand stitching, ruffle making and dressing it up here and there. Wish I could have taken a little better photo, but not only am I protesting for an upgrade in our photo capabilities here...but, this pillow has found its way to my bestest friend's home. She snatched this one up quickly and thinking I may have to make another. For step by step instructions go to the Glue Arts blog.

Thank you everyone who entered the giveaway for the hearts. I will announce the winner, along with the Creations by AR winner tomorrow here on my blog. Until then...I will be listing more items in my shop come Sunday. There is plenty to list and have been so busy I forgot that it has sat empty for a few weeks now. So I am going to fill it up.

Have a great evening and check back tomorrow for some more sewn goodness and maybe a card or two.

hoppin' into class...

I finished my little ones class craft for Thursday and hope it all goes as plans. Of course...I had to dip into my craft supplies and add a little embellishment here and there...Supplies used: 1 styrofoam ball (small), 1/2 styrofoam ball (large), toothpick (to attach the head to body), one pipe cleaner (cut in half) for the ears, google eyes, brad and flag from Nikki Sivils, ribbon, bunny feet from Quickutz build an animal die...and you can't forget the bunny tail which is a large pompom on its back side. I have the body glued and ready for them to attach everything. Loved the idea of the styrofoam since they can pretty much just stick them all, with and without glue. I also glued on a large scallop die cut from paper, you could use felt too, just to keep the cut side of the styrofoam from shedding everywhere.
I have three scrap bins of paper...each one bigger than the other...and alternate between them every few weeks and had fun today switching to the largest bin. There is something about opening the lid and recognizing tiny pieces of my favorite papers that just puts a smile on my face. So as I usually do...I dug right in and create this card. Used a little of my Really Reasonable Ribbon, the pink twine is to die for...and this new item I had yet to work with from Melissa Frances...vintage embellishment frame. Never realized how petite and adorable these were. Finally wanted to create a card for Papertrey Inks Make it Mondays challenge this week. On the simple side with this one...just love the idea!

Have a very creative and happy day and will be back with a giveaway tomorrow to celebrate my little ones birthday. Also, I will be posting in my Etsy shop again next Monday, once I am finally caught up here...some weeks go more smoothly than others that is for sure!

get your scrap on...

Happy Monday to you, or at least it is going in that direction for all of you. The sleepy bug finally caught up with me today and I am ready to call it a night and it is only 3:30 in the afternoon. Thankfully we will not be rushing off to practices this evening, but have to prepare for a busy week of birthdays, Easter celebrations and my always anticipated time to craft. So to kick off the week in my little craft world I have dug into my paper bins and went to work on a few new challenges I came across...

This card was created for this week's challenge over at the Create blog by Northridge Media. The challenge is to create a card using the sentiment "If friends were flowers I'd pick you." Love this sentiment and have used it on many...many projects in the past. Still have time to play along if you get a chance. If you haven't hopped over to this blog...give it a try. They have amazing giveaways on Fridays.

This second card was created for the card challenge over at My Mind's Eye. I have loved My Mind's Eye for years. The colors, designs and overall texture of their papers is amazing. After looking for a specific paper on their website I clicked over to check out the blog. Ahhh...I fell in love all over again. So to play along using my favorite papers...Now to get to work creating my little ones Easter craft for his class. Hoping it isn't too complicated...knowing that I am a crafter and the tools I can use it could become a disaster with ten 4 year olds and all the supplies I seemed to have put together. We will see...may have to share once I get one put together.

Until next time...

just a little...

The weekend to come will be filled...birthday shopping for my littlest bug, crafting from dawn to dusk to play a much needed catch up, being a cheerleader for my boy's soccer team tomorrow, and spending a little time with friends. Filled with anticipation, but know that there will be a need for bunches of coffee to keep me on my toes. So today just here to share a couple of projects I started out my morning with... Today, over on the Whimsie Doodles blog, the feature for today is the circus tent and babies. I choose to use the adorable baby elephant for this card. Additional supplies used: Nikki Sivils sentiment stamps, Prairie Bird Boutique and lots of colorful paper. This carrot container has been sitting in my craft room for a year now and came across it again last week and calling out to have it embellished. With Easter right around the corner and a bunch a beautiful orange ribbon from Prairie Bird Boutique, this just came together as imagined. One last card to share today...I recently began using Prima Marketing paper and have fallen in love. The images and soft colors are amazing.

Have an amazing weekend...

finding the peace...

This is my day...trying to find a moment of peace and quiet from the ramblings in my mind of where I should be and what I should be doing. So I turn to my little corner in the blogging world to share. With this being said, there is probably a reason I used soft colors in my crafting this morning. Something subtle and cozy... I found this dotted silky fabric on the clearance rack at the fabric store the other day and thought it would work well in making it! It is so soft and plush when gathered. Beginning to really dig into my stash and find lots of scrolly, swirly stamps that can be cut around. Also used a sewing machine here to poke holes, allowing me to stitch using blue floss around pendant. Gotta love those big buttons! Don't forget to pop over to Whimsie Doodles for the Wednesday Challenge which I as assigned this week...think pinks and reds.

wonderful life...

Today is starting to be a great day. The kids are off to school with little struggle, I have a plan of action for catching up on orders, the wheels are turning in my head of new ideas (which is always exciting) and I have been asked to be apart of the Really Reasonable Ribbon's design team. So to celebrate this wonderful morning I bring you color...and lots of it. Thank you for sharing this morning... Andrea

happy home...

This weekend was filled with hectic, but very happy moments. Our little ones played in their first soccer games of the season, we had a house full friends and family and had a little quiet time yesterday to prepare for another busy week. I have been absent from crafting for a few days now and ready to jump back in with both feet and start the week off with sharing my first Glue Arts project. Head on over to their blog and check out the step by step on how to recreate this project and several other amazing projects as well. This week will be full of projects to share and challenges to be had...just make sure to check back here each day for a little inspiration, updates on my Etsy shop and challenges. Now that I have spent a few days rearranging my home, adding splashes of color and sitting back to take it all is time to reconnect with you, my blog friends once again :) Andrea

early bird catches what...

Back to early mornings of packing lunches, making the kids look spiffy and heading out the door with packed backpacks in tow. With a large cup of, not so warm, coffee by my side this morning I am waiting anxiously for a package of material today to get started on a few pillows, flowers, and ruffles that are sketched in my head and ready to be made. As the anticipation grows I am here to share one card and one little sneaky peek at what I have been working on... This is just a peek at what is to be released tomorrow by Whimsie Doodles. Many more amazing images this month which I have been enjoying quite a bit so far. Now just to share a card which I created this morning using a few flower stamps that have been rediscovered. I love digging into my stash and finding a set I haven't used for awhile. Now to go search for more...
I used a stamp set from Martha Stewart for the flowers and a little doily trim between the layers. Found a leaf stamp, a few sentiment stamps and bits and pieces of paper to give a little splash of red, white and blue.I am finding myself longing for a little...ok, maybe a lot...of change in my life. My husband...who is anti-change and seems to be satisfied with the same thing day after fighting back and I am running out of reasons why this would be good for us all. I used to be someone who needed a change every two years...moving, rearranging, something BIG. Four and a half years later life has passed so quickly...we have been busy being parents. In search for a giant arrow to say "GO THIS WAY". Probably not likely, but guess I have to start somewhere.

Hope you can join me tomorrow for the Whimsie Doodles release and will be posting more in my Shop by the end of the week! Thinking a few more shabby chic fabric flowers are needing to be made.

it's back...

The sun is shining again after two very long days of nothing but rain, wind and a bunch of thunder keeping us locked away indoors. For the kids...not so happy to be stuck inside, they made the most of it on their break and built a kitty hotel out of couch cushions and pillows both days. They were entertained while I got a little baking...some yummy granola and frosted brownies... and crafting in. So today I get to sit in a quiet house as my wonderful hubby took the day off to take the boys out on an adventure, giving me a much needed break. Love my kids to pieces, but do need some time to recover from a very busy mom far. Created this card by dipping into my Maya Road collection of this and that's, used a little ribbon from Prairie Bird Boutique and fell in love with a few new sheets of paper I purchased recently. Before I go...the winner of the headband from Practical Elegance is LINDA C! Thank you so much to everyone who participated and took the time to check out my mother's shop. Off to clean a little...have to make it look like I have been doing something more than crafting today. Have a wonderful weekend and will be back all weekend with new items in my shop. Andrea
